Your adventure begins at 8AM with complimentary pick-up from your Baker City hotel. Show up early to grab a window seat in the wilderness van and pour yourself a local cup of joe for the ride. The 45 minute drive to the Anthony Lakes trailhead takes you through century farms and the same valley that enticed so many settlers on the Oregon Trail.At the trailhead, your guide will lead a short safety briefing. You’ll have time to fill your water bottles and grab any last minute supplies from the van. Don’t forget your hiking boots or sturdy shoes!The eight-mile hike covers 1300ft of gradual elevation gain in a leisurely 4-5 hours (alternative options exist for a variety of intensity levels). Take frequent breaks to refuel on snacks and water and enjoy ecological interpretation from your guide. Lunch is a chance to sit down, take in grand sweeping views and, with the gourmet option, dine on locally-sourced salads, chef-baked sourdough, and a charcuterie plate of gourmet hiking grub. On the hike, expect to see wild flora and fauna in their native state, epic vistas, and 7 shimmering bodies of water.Back at the trailhead, enjoy a chilled glass of local artisanal wine and another special scrumptious surprise.
