2-Hour Salem History Walking Tour

This two hour Salem history tour is an eclectic, conversational and unscripted walk through Salem with Kenneth. He begins the tour with a description of the founding of Salem as Naumkeag in 1626 and winds a narrative of an important New England seaport that is often only remembered for the Salem Witch Trials but the trials are only a portion of Salems Story Kenneth has to tell.    There have been a few unexpected surprises on the tour.  Kenneth has been studying and learning to sing the songs as they were meant to be sung from The Bay Psalms Book.  This is the first book printed in America in 1640 for the Congregationalists in The Massachusetts Bay Colony.   Kenneth is a plain dressing member of the Society of Friends (Quakers) whose unorthodox predecessors once comprised ten percent of the population of Salem in the 1690s and was born and lives across the harbor from Salem in Beverly, Massachusetts.Additional InformationConfirmation will be received at time of bookingA good way to get your steps in at a moderate pace.Wheelchair accessibleOperates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately.Children 12 and under do not require a ticket.InclusionsLocal guideWalking tourExclusions.Gratuities (optional)Departure PointThe Covens Cottage, a family owned witchcraft store. Departure TimeThe tour gathers 15 fifteen minutes prior to departure.Duration2 hoursReturn DetailsReturns to original departure pointVoucher InfoYou can present either a paper or an electronic voucher for this activity. The tour identified in this promotion is made available through Viator.
