The tour starts at our convenient location on the corner of Kaiulani and Kalakaua. Well make sure everyone is on the right sized bicycle and give you a safety introduction. From there well head out through Waikiki and Honolulu to the bottom of Tantalus. We ride past Obamas childhood home and high school, as well as other historical landmarks. Well climb up Round Top Drive and stop for views of Pearl Harbor and the Waianae mountain range. On the way down well stop by the Puʻu ʻUalakaʻa State Wayside and learn some history about the area, as well as take in the unique views of Diamond Head below. Well finish the decent and make our way back to Waikiki. This is a challenging, yet rewarding climb. The road can be slippery and bumpy at points, plus rain is possible at the top. This is not recommended for beginners or children. We have different pedals (Look, Shimano, Speedplay) if you bring your cycling shoes or we can install flats or toe-cages. You have two bikes to choose from, our sport road bike or our pro road bike. Sport is an aluminum disc brake road bike, while pro is a carbon rim brake bicycle. Both are great options for climbing Mt. Tantalus.
