This tour is all about you and adapted to your particular expectations and skill level so an exact itinerary will vary but generally this is what you can expect:On the day of the hike you will be picked up at your hotel (or wherever you are staying) at 9:00am and driven to the hiking site, Bowl of Fire.The trip to Bowl of Fire will include a drive through Lake Mead National Recreation Area. You’ll get a look at the largest man-made reservoir in the United States as well as some of its unique geology.Depending on the pick up location, the drive will take approximately one hour.On arrival at the hiking site, you will be outfitted with a backpack, water, snack and a hiking pole if desired.The hike begins with a ¾ mile hike up to Bowl of Fire. Most of which will be in a red sand, dry creek bed in a broad, rocky canyon. The overall elevation gain through this section is about 350’. Note that this section is where we regularly see desert bighorn sheep.This is your private hike so don’t ever hesitate to stop for a drink, rest or photograph.Once in the bowl there will be multiple options. You can stay on pretty much level ground and take in the sites. You can hike up into the sandstone looking for your own routes or do some scrambling.
