On this 2 to 2 1/2 hour walking tour we will follow the path of the original settlers of Philadelphia. Early Philadelphia looked very different from todays metropolis. The river was twice as wide and populated with many small islands.This tour will be illustrated with many rare images of the 18th Century waterfront. Learn the history of the waterfront and the early inhabitantsTour starts at Penn’s Welcome Park where you will learn the details about William Penn, the founding of Philadelphia and how the original Philadelphia was laid out.
