We are located between the resorts on the Kohala Coast and are a few minutes drive away. Our permits allows multiple launch sites and we determine which is best based upon the tides and prevailing winds. We will contact you an hour prior to the tours scheduled departure. Everyday is different on the ocean. We know Mother Nature is the boss and we always listen. Paddler experience and comfort is paramount in our guides determination which course is best. In general, all our tours go a lil something like this…~ Your adventure begins with equipment fitting and SUP lesson on proper stance, paddling stroke technique and ocean safety.~ After launching from shore, we spend the first part of the tour cruising in the shallows while you get used to maneuvering and balancing. ~ Once are guests are comfortable with their abilities, we move out toward the reef shelf where we witness the drop offs, caves and arches. ~ The guides will point out the variety of reef fish and their Hawaiian names, always keeping and eye out for Rays, Sea Turtles and dolphins.~ Once our guests have had their fill of the amazing sights and with a little energy left in the tank we head back to out launch site.~ Back on shore, you will be treated to locally sourced food and drink while we reminisce about all we saw. ~ LightSUP Hawaii is passionate about preserving all natural habitat, especially our reefs! We share the various ways we can help restore this amazing ecosystem as well as offer alternatives to big brand sunscreens which is a contributor of the reef demise.
