Founded nearly 100 years ago, the Museum of the City of New York creates several special exhibits each year that run for a few months at a time. Permanent features include Timescapes, an engrossing 22-minute film that traces the growth of the city from a settlement of a few hundred Europeans, Africans, and Native Americans to its present status as one of the world’s great cities. Narrated by award-winning actor Stanley Tucci, the film features maps, photographs, prints, and paintings from the Museum’s collections. Even the stairway is fun and informative at the Museum. Come see and experience ‘City Steps,’ which will take you from floor to floor.
