On the evening prior you will check into the main office at 5:15pm to get fitted for your thermal wet-suit gear and go on the orientation raft trip where you will take your practice swim in a Class II to III rapid.On the day of the trip, you will meet at the main office early in the morning. You will then take a shuttle to Silverton, Colorado via the Million Dollar Skyway. Here you will suit up for your river trip. Thermal wet-suits and booties are required all season and are included in the price. You are now ready to hit the river. Begin through “Animas Gorge” – continuous Class III rapids. Scout and run your first Class V of the day, “Ten Mile” rapid. Take a break for a delicious deli-style, riverside lunch. Return to the river for more continuous Class III rapids after lunch. Scout “No Name” rapid and brazen it, if you dare. Adventure more continuous Class III rapids. Arrive at Needleton Camp, take out de-rig boats for the Durango Silverton Train. You will board the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train and unwind as you take in the sights of the Rockwood Gorge. Arrive at the Rockwood Station, and catch the shuttle back to Durango.
