Whitewater Rafting – White Salmon River

The White Salmon River has been designated as a protected area, and provides a breathtaking combination of whitewater and scenery.Fed by natural springs flowing from the glaciers of Mt. Adams, the White Salmon River cascades through narrow, cliff lined basalt canyons before heading out into the warm sunshine of a forested valley.Throughout the trip, rafters are treated to continuous class III – IV rapids that challenge even the most adventurous guests. In between the rapids, you will have a chance to view lava formed rock walls, float through crystal clear pools, and watch for wildlife in forests that are only accessible from the river. This incredible trip is highlighted by a vertical plunge over the legendary 12′ high Husum Falls.Half Day TripDuring the half day trip you’ll raft the Upper section of the White Salmon River from a private upstream put-in location that adds 2 miles of class III-IV whitewater rapids to the trip. Experience a cliff jump at BZ Falls and the opportunity to run 12′ tall Husum Falls on the Middle White Salmon.Full Day TripThe full day trip includes all the exciting adventures of the half day trip, but continues with a hot riverside lunch at the experience provider’s headquarters and a journey through the canyons formed by the previous lake and the historical site of Condit Dam. You’ll have a chance to see the newly formed Lower Lower section of the White Salmon River and the spectacular Narrows Canyon before arriving at the Columbia River.
